Services
The Industry Outreach Program is designed
to identify petrochemical, construction and healthcare industries’
workforce development obstacles in the Coastal Bend and
facilitate communication between industry and community
in order to meet workforce development needs. To accomplish
this goal, the program staff will:
- Meet with representatives
of the petrochemical, maintenance, construction and healthcare industries as well as various community representatives to discuss
industry obstacles, community programs, and other relevant
topics.
- Survey the industries on issues relevant to employers,
and survey the community on issues relevant to workforce
development including the topic of a career pipeline system.
(The Chamber will share results with participating companies;
however, the individual companies’ privacy will
be protected.)
- Research the various elements of the workforce development
problem, locally and nationally.
- Structure development, facilitation, maintenance, and
revision of the Workforce Leadership model, a workforce
development communication system between industry, community,
the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, and WorkSource
of the Coastal Bend.
- Strategically design the Industry Outreach Program based
off of community and industry feedback.
- Develop the TalentBank web site as a communication portal
for the industry and the community.
- Support community and industry partners by volunteering
time and feedback.
- Represent the Industry Outreach Program, the Chamber,
and WorkSource at industry and community events.
- Advocate for industry needs in partnership circles including
school reform.
